The University Schools Group includes three branches in different areas of the capital, Amman: First University School (located in Jubeiha), Second University School (located in Tabarbour), and Third University School (located in Tla'a Al-Ali).

The University Schools Group works on providing resources and facilities that support the educational process across all its branches and departments, including various services and amenities. They have equipped science and computer labs with the latest tools to connect theory with practice in education.

In line with its focus on creativity, the group has provided a theater, an art room, a music room, and spacious playgrounds.

To maintain the students' physical health and safety, the group has provided specialized medical and nursing staff in the school clinics, along with educational and psychological counseling services offered to students by the counselors and educational specialists.

A Brief Biography of Dr. Ahmed Mufleh Al-Hourani

Dr. Ahmed Al-Hourani was born on December 27, 1942, in Baqa al-Sharqiya, Tulkarm District, Palestine. He began his education at the primary school there, then moved to Tulkarm to complete his preparatory studies. He continued his secondary education, also known as the matriculation exam, before traveling to Damascus, where he completed his undergraduate studies, earning two bachelor's degrees in four years, specializing in history and law.

Al-Hourani worked as a history teacher in Abha, Saudi Arabia. He was a brilliant and outstanding teacher, surpassing all his peers. This remarkable distinction prompted one of his Iraqi colleagues to offer him advice; A man of such intelligence cannot simply feel distinguished; he must translate this distinction into further studies, not content with this level of academic achievement. Dr. Ahmed Al-Hourani heeded this advice and embarked on his studies, traveling to Egypt where he obtained a diploma in tax legislation and then a doctorate in economics from Cairo University.

After returning to Jordan, he held several positions; He worked at the Central Bank, during which time he authored a book on tax legislation. Simultaneously, he lectured at the Central Bank's Institute of Studies. Later, he was seconded to the Cities and Villages Development Bank as Deputy General Manager. Given his abilities and distinction, he was poised to become General Manager, but the nepotism prevalent in our society prevented this, leading to his frustration. He said at the time, "After being ousted from the Cities and Villages Development Bank due to nepotism, I decided to venture into the world of entrepreneurship that same year. I resigned from the Central Bank because of the injustice I felt; this feeling drove me to become self-reliant and determined to succeed in my own business."

Despite lacking sufficient capital to pursue his dream project of establishing an institute for banking sciences, Al-Hawrani, with the determination of a successful businessman, managed to create the institute with a group of trusted friends who worked with him at the Central Bank. This was especially significant as Jordan was experiencing a financial boom at the time, which reinforced his idea for the institute.

This self-made man's vision didn't stop there. He expanded his investments, and although he had started his career as a teacher, he remained committed to the education sector. His second project in this vital sector was the founding of the University Schools, which later expanded to include three branches in Amman, in the Tabarbour, Jubaiha, and University districts. Then, like any successful businessman seeking diversification and development, Al-Hourani expanded his investment projects, extending them into the industrial sector. He says, "I bought 400,000 shares in the Jordanian Dairy Company, which was a joint-stock company between the public and private sectors." He indicates that this company was suffering from inefficiency due to government bureaucracy, so he strived to revitalize it by replacing the public sector with the private sector. The stagnant dairy company was transformed into a successful company with a private-sector mindset.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Al-Hourani, who holds a bachelor's degree in law and literature, a master's degree in finance, and a doctorate in economic development, returned to the education sector. He says, "I had the idea of ​​establishing a private university, as was the case in most countries of the world at a time when Jordan lacked any non-governmental universities." The challenge facing Al-Hourani was significant; The university he was talking about required some capital (a risk), being the first private university in Jordan. Public acceptance of its existence might have been difficult, but Al-Hourani's determination and insightful vision enabled him to move forward with the project with firm steps. He said, "I resolved to pursue the project... I bought a plot of land for the university, and investors reluctantly agreed to partner with me in providing capital. Thus, the project saw the light of day, and Amman Arab University became the first private university in Jordan."

Indeed, this is how Dr. Ahmed Al-Hourani's successes continued across various sectors: industry, tourism, agriculture, and education. He became a unique businessman in Jordan, venturing into all sectors and succeeding in each. He was resolute, and his motto was always: "Honesty, maintaining quality, and above all, reliance on God Almighty."
