The approval of the Ministry of Higher Education came to establish this university in one thousand nine hundred and ninety two, and teaching began in one thousand nine hundred and ninety three, which is the first private university in northern Jordan, and the major and private investment institution at the level of Jerash Governorate, and it was and still will and will, God willing, contribute to solving my problem Poverty and unemployment, as more than twenty three thousand male and female students graduated from the bachelor’s stage, and more than seven hundred male and female students went to the master’s degree, and from here they provided the public and private sectors with distinguished professional cadres, including judges in the courts, representatives in legislative assemblies, teachers in schools, and accountants in companies, And engineers in contracting and agriculture. Jerash University is located on an area of more than three hundred acres, and the area of its buildings is approximately seventy thousand square meters. It contains eleven faculties: Arts, Educational Sciences, Business, Law, Sharia, Science, Engineering, Pharmacy, Nursing, Information Technology, and Agriculture. Three deanships are: Scientific Research and Graduate Studies, Accreditation and Quality, and Student Affairs. Three centers are: Language Center, Consultation and Community Service Center and Computer Center. As for bachelors specializations, there are twenty-three specializations, and the number of master’s specializations is nine specializations. In addition to that, there is a computerized scientific library with a contents of approximately one hundred and twenty five thousand volumes and books. It also contains periodicals and scientific journals covering all disciplines.
The University of Jerash has acquired elements of strength that made it attractive to every science student from inside and outside Jordan, and these elements include:
First: It is located in the middle of six governorates of the Kingdom and at approximately one distance, namely: Amman, Al-Balqa, Zarqa, Mafraq, Irbid and Ajloun.
Second: It is located on the main line linking Jordan to neighboring countries, especially Syria, and is characterized by heavy traffic, which facilitates the process of access to and from the university.
Third: The academic standing that the university has achieved since its establishment locally and regionally through the establishment of a number of international conferences, and the conclusion of a number of cooperation agreements with universities and international research centers, and the issuance of an international refereed journal that is Jerash for research and studies, in addition to that it is a member of the Federation of Arab Universities and the Federation of Universities The Islamic World, the Union of Arab and European Universities, the Federation of International Universities, and the Association of Arab Private Institutions for Higher Education.
Fourth: Existence of a system to take care of international students and provide them with appropriate accommodation and care in various fields.
Fifth: The presence of a large number of faculty members with diverse specializations and long experience in academic fields.
Sixth: The only university among the private Jordanian universities that contains a distinguished college of agriculture locally, regionally and internationally.
Seventh: Providing educational opportunities and grants to the local, Arab and Islamic community, and it works with a comfortable installment system for students.
